Confirmation is a commitment made to “confirm” the promises of baptism, which are often made for us in our infancy. While the Episcopal Church recognizes baptism as full inclusion by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s body the Church, Confirmation is also a rite of passage into full membership in the Episcopal Church’s traditions and practices.
Adults wishing to formally join the Episcopal Church may do so either through Confirmation or, if you are already Confirmed, through Reception or a Reaffirmation of your Confirmation commitment. All of these are presided over by a bishop at an annual parish visit, and have a brief series of classes beforehand.
For more information about Adult Confirmation, Reception, or Reaffirmation, please contact parish clergy through the office at 913-451-0512. Our next time for classes for youth and adult confirmation will begin n January of 2016.
