The Episcopal Church at KC Pride 2025
June 6–8 | Kansas City
You Are Invited
Congregations from the Diocese of West Missouri and the Diocese of Kansas are invited to prayerfully consider why and how they would like to send representatives to help us extend our best invitation into the church’s life and her service during the weekend festival, parade, and celebrations.
Prayer
Let us pray; God of wild love and extravagant acceptance, Spirit of boldness and beauty, You are faithfully present in both the grit and glitter of life, and you are present here with us now. Awaken us to your dream for creation: A world in which every member of the human family is free to flourish however you have made them. Amen
Read ahead for 5 ways you and your congregations can get involved:
ONE: Pride Parade

Right now there are two dates for Pride Prep, where we will prepare and tag swag, paint signs, make decorations for the float, and other duties as assigned. The first Pride Prep event is Thursday, the 29th, at Grace & Holy Trinity Cathedral (Time TBD)

The second Pride Prep event is Tuesday, June 3rd from 5:30-7p at St. Paul’s 11 E. 40th KCMO and we need all hands on deck! Contact Lynette at with questions about that., please contact Lynnette.

The parade co-leaders also need people to commit to the following:
- Show up 2 hours before the parade to finish float construction and support vehicle décor.
- Meet marchers at the end of the route in a vehicle, and shuttle them back to their cars at the beginning of the route.
- Agree to be a marcher who either: carries a sign, hands out swag, hands out hugs, provides support to other marchers via water bottle and swag distribution to them, pulls a support wagon
- Donate wagons, coolers, power-bar-type snacks & water bottles for marchers
- Pick up Ice the morning of the parade and deliver it to the start-line for the support coolers.
If you want to do any of these things, please let or parade organizers know. It will help them immensely to know, right now, that they can count on you. Thank You!

Our Belief
We believe that all people are worthy of respect and honor because all are created in the image of God, and all can respond to the love of God.
However, we see in our churches and in society, LGBTQiA people are not always counted among those for whom the Church seeks justice, or grants due respect, as loving and beloved members of the household of God. We recognize that fear of, and discrimination against LGBTQiA people is part of an oppressive history within the Church and society, which distorts our relationship with God and with other people and diminishes the humanity of us all.
Therefore, we feel compelled to make explicit our welcome of LGBTQiA people into the ministries and life of the Episcopal church, incarnating the message, “The Episcopal Church Welcomes You.” We welcome the ministry and witness of all persons to serve as leaders and participants, fully participating in our life, worship and governance.
