Following the interest at our parish workshop on April 21st, 2012, our parish determined to gather information on this page for support for those working with Alzheimer’s Disease in their family or friends.
Sue Strom, chair of our Pastoral Care team, writes:
At the Alzheimer’s disease Workshop in April, those who attended asked for additional information. I have accessed the following information by visiting the Alzheimer’s Association’s website. There is invaluable information available at the website. Please check it out. I have also included support group information and another website to access when not able to connect with a support group.
Please visit the Alzheimer’s Association website for support, to advocate, and for more information. I hope and pray we will find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease within our children’s lifetime. We are closer, yet need more research and advocacy. Thank you, Susan Strom, Pastoral Care Ministries

Early Stage Support Groups (Topeka, St. Joseph, and Prairie Village)
Early stage support groups provide information, discussion and inspiration through an honest exchange of how each are coping and continuing on with good and productive lives. If you are considering joining the early stage support group, contact a Heart of America staff (listed below) for an orientation meeting prior to attendance. The orientation meeting provides an opportunity to ask questions and insure the group is the right fit for your needs.
