Current Small Groups

Currently, the following small groups are meeting.

For information about joining one of our small groups, contact The Rev. Kelly Demo through the parish office at 913-451-0512!

A couples’ group, currently studying the Apostle Paul. They are involved in emergency relief bags and Blue Valley Ministries.

God and Games

If you enjoy good fellowship, conversation and a bit of a brain teaser…this is the group for you! We meet the second Saturday of the month at St. Thomas to play board games of all types. Feel free to join us any Saturday and bring your favorite board game!

Prayer Shawl Ministry

This group meets at the parish and knits prayer shawls together. These shawls are blessed during special services at St. Thomas, and they are given to those who are ill or have lost a loved one. This very meaningful practice has become a strong part of our care for one another at St. Thomas.

 Mom’s Group

We have a faith based support group for moms at St. Thomas. We discuss the joys and challenges of being a mother. This is a safe place for mothers to gather, pray and be supported by a loving community.

Coffee with a hint of Christ

This group meets at St Thomas and is involved with the packing of “Backsnacks” for at-risk youth in our community.

Classics Men’s Group

This group is open to retired and semi-retired men, and meets at the parish for monthly conversation and Bible Study. Conversations range over many topics.

Look for Christ in Each Other While Surveying the Bible and the World Around Them

This group meets twice a month. They meet at a couple’s house for one meeting and then they take a day trip for their second meeting. Their day trips consist of places like Martin and Osa Johnson Museum, The Steamboat Arabia Museum, Powell Gardens, the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, the National WWI Museum, Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge and many more. They are interested in exploring the Scripture and the World around them.

 Solos Dining Out

Solos Dining Out, a ChristCare ministry, began five years ago to offer friendship, support and spiritual growth to people with no spouse/partner. Members choose a restaurant once a month (second Tuesday) to gather, and through breaking of bread, there is much laughter and camaraderie thanks to our united faith in God.
