Thanksgiving at St. Thomas

St. Thomas the Apostle will hold their annual Thanksgiving Eve service on Wednesday, November 22, at 7:00 pm, to give thanks for our many blessings.

Following the service will be fellowship with a Pumpkin Dessert Bar. Feel free to bring a “sampler” (6-8 small servings) of a pumpkin dessert.  Or just come and be a “taster”!

New this Year—Thanksgiving Day Dinner!
We are trying something brand new at St. Thomas by offering a Thanksgiving Dinner to parishioners and  anyone in the community. We will be serving a traditional meal with all the trimmings on Thanksgiving Day from 12-3 in our Parish Hall. No need to cook, just come and enjoy some food and fellowship whether you will be alone or have the whole family for the holiday. We will be offering our meal to others in the community who want to come and eat with us. What a wonderful way to reach out to the community and offer food on such a special day by breaking bread (and turkey legs) with each other. Come whenever you can for as long as you can to either eat, help or both.

We can use some help all day or for a couple of hours with cooking, serving or clean up. Since this is our first year we ask parishioners who want to attend to also sign up so we can help plan.  Meal is free for everyone.  You may sign up here to help or just come to eat:  THANKSGIVING DINNER

The Season of Advent at St. Thomas

The Season of Advent begins December 1 & 2, 2018.

“Adventure” Wreathmaking will take place on December 2 from 9:45 – 12:30 in the Parish Hall.  Join in our annual Advent tradition of Wreathmaking and holiday crafting to prepare our hearts and homes for this special season as we await the birth of the Savior.  Adult Formation will not meet on December 2.

Lessons and Carols will also take place on December 2 during the 10:45 am service.  This is a special service that includes special anthems, solos, and lots of congregational hymn singing.

Beginning December 9, Children & Youth Sunday School and Adult Formation will incorporate “The Way of Love” into their study.  This curriculum was inspired by Presiding Bishop Michael Curry and developed by the Episcopal Church.  All classes begin at 9:50 am.  Children & Youth will meet in the Education Wing and Lower Level of the church and Adult Formation in Parish Hall 2 (middle section across from Kitchen).

Advent Lunches are scheduled each Wednesday during Advent on December 5, 12, and and 19 from Noon to 1 pm in the Parish Hall.  Each Wednesday we’ll study the Presiding Bishop’s curriculum “The Way of Love”. Enjoy a simple soup luncheon and warm fellowship.
