Worship Services at St. Thomas

Saturday 5:30

Our Saturday evening service is a quieter service with hymns played on a grand piano and accompanied by a cantor. This service has a relaxed and contemplative feel.

Sunday 8:45

Our Sunday 8:45 service includes praise songs played by a live praise band, including classically trained guitarists, piano, upright base, and drums. All songs are in the service booklet. We read weekly Hebrew Bible (Old Testament), Psalm, and Gospel readings at this service.

Sunday 10:45

Our Sunday 10:45 service includes hymns from the church hymnal are played on the organ with brass and choral accompaniment. Sections of the service use a “cantor” to lead songs, and through much of the year, the Eucharistic prayers are partially sung by the priest.

Children’s Church is offered during both Sunday services during the readings and sermon, and children rejoin parents for communion. Sunday School and adult formation classes on various topics are offered between the Sunday services.

Welcome!

Welcome! St. Thomas the Apostle is a community of Christians in Overland Park who have committed to the mission: “Come, Grow, Serve, Make a Difference.” We value the fellowship of knowing one another and the strong outreach that our parish offers, giving us plenty of chances to live out that mission statement! Our church has good music, strong preaching, energetic leadership, and welcoming people. We value hospitality, families and youth, outreach, and community. We have many Bible studies and special programs.

Our church is committed to not only hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but living into it together as a community, and welcoming others into that.
